How hydrodynamic sewer cleaning works
Hydrodynamic sewer cleaning is the most commonly used sewer cleaning process. This cleaning method is used both for regular maintenance and for preparatory measures for condition assessment and renovation. It enables cost-effective, safe, efficient cleaning that is also gentle on the pipe material.
A high-pressure pump forces water through the hose into the flushing nozzle. The thrust that takes effect when it exits the nozzle head quickly pulls the hose rolling off a reel into the channel. The hose is then pulled back mechanically. The water jets that emerge at an angle to the rear loosen up the deposited dirt, rinse the sewage membrane from the pipe walls and ensure intensive ventilation of the pipe section. The high-pressure jet water, supported by the draining wastewater, washes contaminants such as mud, sand and even larger objects through the canal to the next shaft. These rinsed substances are removed by suction. The suction can be carried out by a combined suction/flushing vehicle.
